General Audition Information
In spring and summer 2026, youth performers have the opportunity to participate in The Academy’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr., with The Rising Stars Youth Ensemble, and additional opportunities as part of Music Theatre Wichita’s Mainstage Season. A variety of camps and classes will also be offered throughout the spring and summer.
Below you will find details about these exciting opportunities. If you have any remaining questions after reviewing this information and the attachments, please email education@mtwichita.org.
Auditions will take place at The Metropolitan Baptist Church, located at 525 W Douglas. Please enter through the south entrance of the building and park in the lot directly south of the church.
Music Theatre Wichita will offer an audition prep workshop on Saturday, January 10th, from 12:00–2:30 PM, designed to help young performers get ready for the official auditions taking place the following weekend. Open to students ages 8–18, the workshop will divide participants into age-appropriate groups to ensure personalized guidance. Throughout the afternoon, students will refine their audition songs, take part in a mock dance audition, and practice cold readings to build confidence and strengthen their skills. This hands-on session offers a supportive environment where emerging performers can prepare, learn, and shine. Please visit https://mtwichita.org/education/classes/ and click on the Camp/Events tab to sign-up and register for this workshop. The fee is $30.
