Music Theatre Wichita Apprentice Program

Music Theatre Wichita’s Apprentice Program introduces high school students to the world of professional theatre. Apprentices work alongside MTWichita professionals in all aspects of theatrical production.

The Apprentice Program is combines work in the shops (costume, scene, props, etc.) and assisting backstage. An apprentice may participate in one show, multiple shows, or the entire season.

Summer Apprentices spend their days doing creative work, and this program has proven to be a rewarding activity for young people with a strong interest in the world of technical theatre. MTWichita’s unique program regularly receives feedback from former apprentices who credit their experiences in developing valuable skills, strong work habits, industry contacts, and the focus that creates a smooth transition into professional theatrical careers and creating lifelong friendships and memories.

Apprentices must complete their freshman year of high school to be eligible.
