Each summer Music Theatre Wichita assembles a talented group of technical theatre personnel. As a prestigious internationally-recognized summer theatre, MTWichita creates positive summer experiences for both experienced and up-and-coming technicians and artists.
Five shows are self-produced each summer, resulting in a fun and fast paced environment. MTWichita strives to ensure sufficient budgets and state of the art equipment. Two to three shows are built in-house each summer – all sets, props, and costumes go into the organization’s rental inventory, so they are built to last!
The summer schedule is ideal for college age technicians seeking to bridge the gap between studies and professional careers. Major designers and directors from New York and other theatrical centers work hand in hand with the Music Theatre Wichita technical staff. Returning personnel are often offered opportunities for advancement. Internships and apprenticeships are available for high school and college students.
